They are some of the most talented artists in Oaxaca with the carvings being very proportional to the real life animals and with great expression s and sense of motion. The patterns that are delicately painted are inspired by the designs found throughout the Zapotec ruins of Oaxaca which have a great importance in Oaxacan culture to this day.
