Excellent elephant by the Ramirez family workshop in Oaxaca, Mexico. Carved out of wood of the sustainably sourced copal tree which is the wood of choice for carvers in Oaxaca due to its humidity. The humidity of the wood allows for a higher level of detail in the wood which is evident in this very detailed piece. The movement of the trunk and the ears give this elephant a dominating look and the vibrant colors really make it stand out. An excellent collectors piece.
