Exceptional white Zapotec deer alebrije wood carving by the very talented Fabian family. This very large piece was carved using only locally sourced copal wood which is the wood of choice for alebrije carvings and is considered a sacred tree. The fine detail painted throughout this piece incorporates intricate Zapotec patterns which can be seen on ruins throughout Oaxaca.
