Exceptional large cat wood carving by the Sosa family. This fabulous piece was carved out of copal wood at the family workshop in San Martin Tilcajete which is a small town just outside of the city of Oaxaca where most fine wood carvings are made. The distinctive vibrant colors and Zapotec patterns that adorn this piece are a style that the Sosas have developed over the years and have become well known for throughout the world among Mexican folk art collectors. An excellent collectors piece to add color to any room.
