Mesmerizing Zapotec ram by top Oaxacan carver & painter duo Nicolas Morales & his wife Laura Jimenez. Nicolas carves their amazing pieces and Laura paints them. They are some of the most talented artists in Oaxaca with the carvings being very proportional to the real life animals and with great expression s and sense of motion. The patterns that are delicately painted by Laura are inspired by the designs found throughout the Zapotec ruins of Oaxaca which have a great importance in Oaxacan culture to this day.
