This exquisite work of art by the Ramirez family in Oaxaca was handcrafted over the span of 50 days. Expertly out of the wood of the copal tree which is native to Oaxaca. The painting is very finely done with patterns inspired by those found on the ancient Zapotec ruins of Oaxaca. Copal carvings are allowed to fully dry for several weeks prior to painting to allow time for imperfections to be smoothed and filed in to give the piece a perfectly smooth finish.
