Exceptionally large and detailed elephant alebrije wood carving by the Fuentes family workshop. This incredible piece took 10 months to complete (from carving, drying, and painting)and was hand carved out of a single large block of copal wood. The painting was very well done and incorporates the Fuentes style of painting with ancient Zapotec patterns which have a great presence and importance in Oaxacan arts and culture. Not a single detail was spared in creating this wonderful work of Mexican fine art.
