Exceptionally detailed elephant alebrije wood carving by the Morales family workshop. This incredible piece took 10 months to complete (from carving, drying, and painting)and was hand carved out of a single block of copal wood. The painting was very well done and incorporates the fine Morales style of painting with ancient Zapotec patterns which have a great presence and importance in Oaxacan arts and culture. Not a single detail was spared in creating this wonderful work of Mexican fine art.
