Fantastic rabbit alebrije wood carving by the Morales family. Carved out of a solid piece of copal wood which is sustainably sourced in the feilds surrounding their workshop. Susano is known as one of the premier wood carvers in Oaxaca and is entirely self taught along with his brother Eleazar who has also made a name for himself in the town of Arrazola. The painting is very nicely done with bright colors and Zapotec patterns which have a lot of cultural significance in Oaxaca.
