This fabulous coyote alebrije wood carving by the Morales family was expertly carved out of locally sourced copal wood and painted with the finest of detail. This piece was very well made and with perfect proportions of a coyote. The Zapotec patterns adorning the entire piece are inspired by those found on the ancient ruins found scattered throughout the Oaxaca region and have a great importance on Oaxacan culture and arts. A fantastic piece of Mexican folk art!
