Very creative and interesting piece by the Jimenez family. The Jimenez family was the very first family to begin carving wooden creations in Oaxaca. These fantastical creatures which are born from the imagination of the artist often blwnd 2 or more animals into one which in Oaxacan culture is known as a "nahual." This owl-man fusion was expertly carved out of a single piece of copal wood and painted with great detail using the Jimenez signature style.
