Beautiful white and blue opossum alebrije wood carving by the Fabian family. This piece was very well done and carved out of a single piece of copal wood. The copal tree is considered to be sacred and only grows in the region of Oaxaca and is the wood of choice for most wood carvers. The fine details in the painting incorporates patterns of the ancient Zapotecs who lived in the region of Oaxaca thousands of years ago.
