Excellent large parrot alebrije wood carving. Magaly and her husband are two of the best artists in Oaxaca and are sought after for their beautiful and bright wood carvings which stand out from other families. The carving by Jose is exceptional considering this entire parrot is one single piece with no removable parts. The design in the painting waqs inspired by ancient Zapotec symbols which are very prevalent around Oaxaca and engrained in the culture. Attached hook on the back allows for hanging on a wall or from a ceiling. An excellent and unique piece!
