This dodo bird sculpture was made with sustainably sourced copal wood using techniques that have been passed down over generations. The detail in the carving is a result of years of practice using the tools of traditional wood carvers which include gouges, chisels, machetes and sandpaper. The piece was decorated with Lauro Ramirez' very distinct style.
