Jovial bull alebrije wood carving by top Oaxacan artist Gaspar Calvo. Carved out of a solid piece of copal wood and painted with fine detail. The Zapotec patterns represent the elements of nature that had great importance to the ancient people of Oaxaca and continue to have a large presence in Oaxacan culture to this day.
