Lion With Spinning Top - Oaxacan Alebrije Wood Carving

This fantastic lion wood carving with spinning top was made by the extremely talented Roque family in Oaxaca. The lion is constructed out of a single piece of copal wood while the top is detachable and has a metal pin which is secured in a hole on the lions hand. Such a creative and well carved piece with great detail in the painting.
