Large masterpiece bear Oaxacan alebrije wood carving by the extremely talented husband & wife team Jose Calvo & Magaly Fuentes. Magaly is daughter of Epifanio Fuentes who is one of the original wood carvers in Oaxaca and helped popularize the art form. This piece was carved out of a single piece of copal wood by Jose and painted with the vibrant Zapotec patterns by Magaly. An excellent work of art by a young up-and-coming team of artists.
