A very creative wood carving by top Oaxacan artist Gaspar Calvo. This Zapotec heart was delicately carved out of a single piece of copal wood with attention to detail and features of a real human heart. The intricate patterns adorning this piece were inspired by the ancient Zapotec ruins which are found throughout Oaxaca.
